Barium meals/swallows pricing will now increase from $105 to $180 – effective immediately. The out of pocket for patient’s who have Medicare cards will be approx. $100.
Please make sure all staff know to quote this amount and that patients understand that there is a low supply of barium, and whilst we can put them on a waiting list, it may be a very long wait and that they are welcome to try elsewhere if they prefer (but that we are not aware of other places that may or may not do them – could try Blacktown Hospital).
