Clinical Notes Regarding Hernias

Please be aware there are different types of hernias.  When a doctor requests an ultrasound, the item number required depends on what type of hernia the doctor is looking for. The two item numbers used are either for abdominal wall ultrasound, or groin ultrasound.

Please check the clinical notes for the type of hernia that is suspected and use the correct corresponding item number. 

If you are unsure, check with a supervisor or sonographer. 

If a sonographer sees the incorrect item has been used, could you please inform the front desk supervisor or concierge to have the item changed.
