Breast Biopsies

Please use the core biopsy codes for Breast Biopsies.  If a fine needle biopsy is performed, then the sonographer performing the scan will change the description/code from core biopsy to fine needle biopsy.  They will also indicate if more than one lesion has been biopsied.  If more than one lesion is biopsied then please add item 31548 for each nodule that is biopsied.  There are quick codes in Comrad that can be applied. Breast BX is code for bilateral breast core biopsy for one nodule.
