If a patient is referred for a CT Chest and Calcium Score (and has a current Medicare card), then we bulk bill the CT chest and there is a charge of $95 for the Calcium Score as this is not rebateable from Medicare. Two visits need to be entered.
- CT Chest – with case type as Bulk Bill
- CT Cal Score – with case type as private
If the Calcium Score is requested as part of a Coronary Angiogram scan then there is no charge for the Calcium Score. Even if referred from a GP, as long as we have two referrals, one for the CT Chest and one for the Coronary Angiogram, then the Calcium Score will not be charged as it is performed as part of the Coronary Angiogram.
