OPV

OPV must be done each and every time a patient comes for a visit.  No excuses. No "I forgot". It just has to be done. This is where we will be able to capture if a Medicare card is current and that Medicare has verified the patient’s details. Of course, there are times when OPV is down, and in these instances it is so important that the patient has their card and are able to show you this so you can check validity. For those that have interim cards etc. you can take a copy and scan into the patient record. We’ve recently had a run of patients whose cards are invalid and/or expired and we are therefore not getting paid.

In addition, for those patients that have only one name, please enter the name in the Surname field.  In the first name field type:  Onlyname (all as one word). You will then be able to OPV.
