Vaccination Status

A reminder to everyone and further clarification for those that may be confused in regards to asking about vaccination status, and the recording of this information.

 

Every booking must be asked about the vaccination status and notes made in the patient appointment using the covid template – under NO circumstances should the vaccination status be selected in the patient record screen without SIGHTING the vaccination certificate.

 

Unfortunately, people can say they’re vaccinated but unless you sight their vaccination certificate then you can’t be guaranteed that they are.  Remember your name goes against the record saying you’ve sighted the certificate - therefore the only staff that can select the permanent vaccination status in the patient record are the reception staff when a patient comes in to have a test done. 

 

No staff member arranging an appointment over the phone (unless patient has emailed their vaccination through to us and this is then scanned into the patient visit) should be selecting that the patient is vaccinated (see arrow below pointing to green highlighted vaccinated status – only to be selected if vaccination certificate actually sighted – NOT to be selected over the phone).  For over the phone verification of status use the covid booking template to confirm that screening questions have been asked, this will go in the note section of the appointment.


When a patient arrives for their appointment, the covid screening macro will need to be selected and questions asked again and recorded in the note section of the visit. Their vaccination status can then be selected in the patient record.
