Please remember our patients are not just a number in a queue, rather than saying "next please" (which can very well make them feel they are just a number) say "may I help you". Stand up if you have to so they can see you, and make eye contact!
When calling a patient by name, please be clear, and yes we understand there are some difficult names to pronounce, so just do your best!
Remember the tone of your voice is also extremely important, and whilst we may be wearing masks, a smile can still be heard :)
Our patients are experiencing some kind of health issue and are more than likely stressed (otherwise they wouldn't be here!), so we thank you for making them feel welcome and looked after.
