Staff Confidentiality

If  a staff member elects to have a scan at WIG, they are to be provided the same privacy, confidentiality and respect that any other patient that comes to WIG expects.

It is not appropriate nor acceptable to discuss or look up a colleagues record without direct consent or in the course of your daily duties.

Even if you are registering the staff member’s details, scanning them, billing, bagging or typing their report - it is all done with privacy and confidentiality.

Any staff found to be looking up another staff member’s record for anything other than professional purposes and in the course of their daily duties and without patient/staff member’s consent - will be required to go through a disciplinary process as this is a very serious breach of privacy and confidentiality.
