CT Appointments

REMINDER:

• Reminder please that no children are to be booked for CT scans.  You can check with the senior Techs Katrina and Thanu, or one of the Radiologists, but CT is not something we would usually do for those under the age of 21 - but in particular any children.
• If a CT patient is having dialysis then please check with Kat or Thanu in regards to when and how to book patient in.  There is a protocol for these patients and therefore a patient cannot just be booked in without having been protocoled by the Techs.
• Bloods for any diabetic patient, anyone over 70  - within the last 3 months – we must have these results.

Coronary Angiograms

• Must be prepped – the preparation protocol is listed in the prep codes.  
• The patient must have meds and bloods checked.  
• Please check if referral is from GP or Specialist.  If from a GP, there needs to be two referrals provided. 
• If a coronary angiogram is referred from a GP (and GP won’t provide a CT chest referral), then this test cannot be bulk billed and there is a private charge of $350.
• Please check when confirming appointment all preps, meds, bloods and referral/s
• If more than one test is requested on a CTCA coronary referral e.g. carotid ultrasound, CTPE etc., please make sure that all relevant appointments are arranged. If a CTPE is also requested, this must be done first and the CTCA performed on another day.
