Punctuality

Just as we expect our patients to be on time for appointments, all staff are expected to be on time to work.  Of course, there are times that things happen that are out of our control but if these things are occurring daily or even weekly such as public transport delays etc., then it may be that you need to consider getting an earlier means of transport so that you get to work on time for your shift.  We have other staff and patients relying on you being present and on time.

Should there be a situation where you know that you’re going to be late, then please advise your supervisor, it will then need to be worked out with the supervisor in regards to how this time will be made up. This does not negate though that staff should be on time to commence their shift (it just means that you work the hours you’re getting paid for).

Punctuality forms a part of work performance and all staff are expected as part of WIG code of conduct to be on time for their shift.
